Learn more about meal replacement shakes on my website here:

Ideally, we’d all have the time to prepare healthy, homemade meals and sit down to eat them mindfully, but given how busy we are today, it’s not surprising that meal replacement shakes, bars and snacks have grown in popularity exponentially over the past several decades. In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, I share the 6 dangers of conventional meal replacement shakes, such as synthetic vitamins, artificial sweeteners and more, as well as how these toxic ingredients affect your body and a few better, healthier options to try instead.

  1. Great meal ideas but please be careful about the animal proteins. If you are looking to have optimum health adopt a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet. Read or listen to the audio book of How Not To Die by Dr. Michael Greger and The China Study by T. Colin Campbell. Trust me, you will be grateful you did! 🙂

  2. The body doesn't know the difference between natural and synthetic vitamins in fact natural vitamins only have to be 10% natural to be called natural there is no such thing as 100% natural supplement

  3. Important questions:
What about the studies saying raw eggs contribute to biotin deficiency?
Are there any issues associated with consuming liquid foods too frequently as opposed to solids?
Lastly, I thought probiotics in yogurt and kefir get denatured from pasteurization?

  4. I am an active 56 year old triathlons. Am lactose intolerant and am currently adding in a lactose free whey protein but am seeing an increase in asthma symptoms. Trying to build muscles. What protein do you suggest to replace it and still see muscle gain? I have hoshimotos and am taking daily pig thyroid supplement. Am trying to wean off of that.

  5. Dr. Josh Axe, I take organic food supplement Barley for a year, is it fine or I better stop taking it?. It said it helps a lot if you have different diseases and even cancer can cure that barley. Please say your opinion about what barley can give to our body, thank you!. 😀

  6. Your videos are good, but…it's super annoying when you repeat 3 times to subscribe, share, etc., too agressive marketing makes your vdeos boring and annoying and actually I lose my patience and watch somebody's else video that is shorter. Please stop it, it annoys everybody for sure and it makes you look fake and like you're doing all of this for money. Nobody subscribes and share because you repeat it 3 times for God's sake! It actually makes me unsubscribe because your videos are sooooo annoying, even though the information is useful. Stoooooop repeating please, I really love the info from your videos, but I will have to unsubscribe because of this, it gets me on my nerves, you look stupid doing this!!!!!

  7. Hi Josh, I am really enjoying your clips but this is all new to me and I don't know about many of the suggestions your offer. I would love you to do a cooking session where you show us what all the items are and how to put them together in detail.
    Thank you Jacinta

  8. Let us not forget, Calcium is still Calcium no matter where it comes from. General chemistry people, the high school stuff a lot of people have seem to have forgotten. You CANNOT synthesize an element. Now taking it from a compound such as Calcium Carbonate is definitely possible. But synthetic vitamins, synthetic minerals? That’s a huge negative. This is literally chapter 1 in most Chemistry textbooks! It’s super scary to think that a Doctor (someone who should have earned a Doctorate, which is an immense amount of course work) would propagate such nonsense as the opening to his video. This is such a shame.
