Since I’ve done a little research, whey protein is not as bad as I thought it was. It is more about the ingredients combined with the whey protein that makes it bad for you. Here I will list a few that you need look out for and try to avoid if possible.

Soy is first on the list. You don’t want it in any food or drinks. Unfermented soy leads to hormonal imbalance, disrupts the production of thyroid hormones, and reduces oxygen in red blood cells. Soy protein is highly refined, which damages your thyroid. Soy protein isolate is very cheap to make, and has a lot of negative side affects. Soy lecithin is very common, which causes mostly nausea and stomach aches.

Next is gluten, which contains a lot of inflammatory properties. A little bit won’t hurt you in the long run.

Hydrogenated anything, which means it is heated at a high temperature, attributes to trans fats and is not good at all.

Avoid high amounts of sugar. Artificial sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose, and acesulfame should be avoided at all times.

  1. There's no point in drinking protein. For example there are 62 grams of protein inside a steak. Why would you need to drink protein if you can get all your protein from eating? Stupid,stupid, stupid.

  2. Im done with whey isolate protein… Everyone so careful around this subject because they dont want to upset future sponsors… Nobody has the same dna or gentics. And there is such a wide range of age groups. Taking this stuff… We truly dont know what some of these athletes bodybuilders fitness experts and youtubers are putting in their bodies

  3. so you are telling people not to use protein shakes, but yet you are in the comments telling them what protein shakes to make? that makes no sense… yes, there are different types, we all know this. but not right to put all protein under a negative umbrella, and then tell people to use vegan protein shakes LOL… you gotta be kidding me.

  4. Sorry but I just wasted 25 bucks in whey protein that’s free of gluten and any other banned substances and it’s chocolate….all I care about is if it deflates my muscles if I drink it most of the time…..

  5. Gotta call this one out. There's nothing wrong with soy unless you're intolerant. Just eat in moderation as part of a varied diet, and the less processed the better. Any studies pointing towards the dangers of soy are likely funded by the meat or dairy industry and a ploy to reduce the rise and popularity of plant-based alternatives to their products. And to anyone that's heard this myth, no, you will not grow breasts if you eat too much soy. Ridiculous. Whey, (isolate or concentrate), on the other hand, is bad as it's derived from milk and milk is bad for you, (it leads to osteoporosis for one), contrary to the popular belief perpetuated by the dairy industry that it's good for you. Anyway, love your content for the most part Brendon, but on nutrition I'm definitely going to have to disagree. A whole-foods, plant based diet is the only one that will ensure we are as healthy as possible.

  6. i had to lose like nipple fat it's so hard i had a great build like athletic body but my nipples looked gay i eat pasta nearly everyday eat cereal everyday semi skimmed milk and i eat at least 1 bannana a day as well and twice a week steak and chcken every 3 days so i don't get why this is happenimg right before the gym i will just eat 1 snickers bar.

  7. Haha, this dude just copied some stuff from a quack called Mercola. Most of the things he said in this video is factually incorrect and has zero scientific support, actually it is the exact opposite for some of the claims about soy and gluten.
